Retrofit scope can range from an obsolete PLC, HMI, VFD or servo replacement to a coordinated controls migration with electrical modifications, new sensors, network changes, safety interfaces and machine functionality updates.
A retrofit should not become an uncontrolled redesign. RoboMecs identifies what can remain, what must change and which dependencies may be affected so the migration boundary is technically clear before shutdown work starts.

Evaluate motor, feedback, control method, electrical ratings, communication and mechanical requirements before selecting and commissioning replacement drive technology.
Modify panels, power/control distribution, I/O, relays, terminals, networks and field wiring where the new control architecture requires physical changes.
Add or improve sensing, fault visibility, sequence logic, operating modes, product interfaces or machine functions where these changes are part of the approved retrofit scope.

Modernization can be phased or completed in one shutdown depending on equipment risk, spare availability, documentation, production schedule and how tightly the legacy components are coupled.
The most important retrofit work happens before wiring is removed: establish the baseline, understand dependencies, define the migration path and prepare the software, drawings and replacement hardware.
Collect part numbers, programs, parameters, drawings, network details, I/O lists and operating requirements while the current system can still be examined.
Identify retained components, replacements, interface changes, software conversion needs, electrical modifications and commissioning risks.
Develop replacement logic, HMI, drawings, drive parameters, panels or adapter arrangements and pre-test as much of the migration as practical.
Execute the shutdown work, verify I/O and interfaces, commission sequences, tune the application and capture final backups/documentation.
